Does CBD oil affect blood pressure medication

Does CBD or hemp oil help against high blood pressure?

In our society, hemp always has a touch of the forbidden, as its cultivation was forbidden for many years. The plant was usually only illegally planted by some people because of its intoxicating effect. This effect is caused by the ingredient THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is contained in different types of hemp in different strengths.

Meanwhile the picture is changing. Low-THC varieties are now being grown completely legally, and the old hemp plant is being rehabilitated and rediscovered. In this context, the so-called CBD oil can currently be read again and again as being particularly health-promoting.

What is hemp oil?

Hemp oil - or more precisely hemp seed oil - is the name given to the oil obtained from the seeds of the hemp plant.

What is CBD Oil?

The oil extracted from the green leaves is called CBD oil. CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol. It occurs mainly in fiber hemp and - in contrast to the THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) mentioned at the beginning - has no psychoactive effect.

While the hemp seed oil can be bought in many shops, the CBD oils offered by drugstores were recently taken out of the range again. Although CBD is not intoxicating and hemp products may not exceed a maximum THC content of 0.2 percent, the legal status of cannabis products outside of medical applications is still sensitive.

Does hemp or CBD oil help against high blood pressure?

On the Internet and from dubious providers, you can find descriptions of true miracles that CBD oil is supposed to do in terms of health. Lowering blood pressure is also repeatedly touted. Sometimes the providers cavort in appropriate forums and groups and advertise their products with great promises. We researched the effect on blood pressure for a long time with the following result:

There is currently a lack of scientific evidence for a blood pressure lowering effect of hemp and CBD oil.
Although one reads again and again about a corresponding effect, we could not find any conclusive studies that prove this connection.

So everything is still boiled very hot. On the one hand, CBD is said to have an almost miraculous abundance of positive effects, but on the other hand, the legal side is apparently still a not fully clarified gray area.
