Despite Corona, these long-distance trips are completely possible without quarantine

Dream vacation despite Corona and without quarantine: This is now possible again for Germans who have not yet received a vaccination. On May 13th, the new entry regulation came into force in Germany, making dozens of travel destinations significantly easier to reach again, because the motto is: Corona test instead of quarantine!

For example, travelers who enter Germany from countries and regions that are considered a risk area only have to show a negative corona test, proof of vaccination or proof of recovery. There are no longer any requirements for children under the age of six; a negative corona test is required from the age of six. Exceptions only apply to travelers from high-incidence areas or virus variant areas.

If you come to Germany by plane from a risk area, you must still present a negative PCR (maximum 72 hours old) or antigen rapid test (maximum 48 hours old) before boarding the aircraft. Anyone coming from a risk area by land must present a corresponding corona test within 48 hours of entering the country - a quarantine is required until the test result is negative. So if you want to do without quarantine entirely, you can also test yourself here before entering Germany.

Travel to the risk area: Corona test and entry form instead of quarantine

If the long-distance travel destination in question is a risk area and is on the corresponding list of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), you must also register digitally before entering the country at www.einreiseanmeldung.de.

A travel warning from the Foreign Office still applies to many of the countries. But: A warning is not a ban, and with the new entry regulations, the quarantine, which has deterred many holidaymakers so far, is also no longer necessary. In countries with a travel warning, package tours are often canceled, so in many places you have to travel individually - you should definitely discuss this with your provider.

Popular vacation spots around the world are also aware that this option offers opportunities. A majority of them continue to allow German tourists in the country despite the third wave of coronavirus. This list only includes countries that are open to German tourists and into which upon entryno quarantine requirement for German travelers applies.
