Why is Jesus your righteousness

  • So confess your sins to one another and pray for one another that you will get well. A righteous prayer can do much when it is sincere.
  • Commit your ways to the Lord
    and hope in him, he will do it well
    and will bring up your righteousness
    like the light and your right like noon.
  • The righteous must suffer much
    but from all this the Lord helps him.
  • Open your mouth and judge in righteousness
    and do justice to the poor and poor.
  • No weapon that is prepared against you should succeed, and every tongue that arises in a legal dispute against you should be found guilty. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me, saith the Lord.
  • Learn to do good!
    Seek justice, help the oppressed,
    right the orphans, lead the widows' cause!
  • Therefore, oh human being, you cannot apologize for whoever you are, who you judge. Because in what you judge others, you condemn yourself because you are doing the same thing that you judge.
  • Cast your request upon the LORD;
    he will take care of you
    and becomes the righteous
    Do not let it waver in eternity.
  • But justice flows like water and justice like a never-ending brook.
  • For in it is revealed the righteousness that is valid before God, which comes from faith in faith; as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
  • Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and see how I mean it.
    And see if I'm on the wrong path
    and guide me forever.
  • Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness;
    for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  • Righteousness exalts a people;
    but sin is the ruin of men.
  • But every chastisement, when it is there, seems to us not to be joy but pain; but afterwards it brings as fruit to those who are trained by it peace and righteousness.
  • You are told, human, what is good
    and what the Lord asks of you:
    nothing but keep God's word and practice love
    and be humble before your God.
  • The little that a righteous person has
    is better than the abundance of many wicked.
    For the arms of the wicked will break
    but the Lord upholds the righteous.
  • Do not go under the yoke of others with the unbelievers. For what has justice to do with lawlessness? What kind of fellowship does light have with darkness?
  • Through the mouth of the despiser, his neighbor is corrupted;
    but the righteous are saved by knowledge.
  • I rejoice in the Lord
    and my soul rejoices in my God;
    for he has put on me the clothes of salvation
    and dressed in the cloak of righteousness,
    adorned like a bridegroom with a priestly headdress
    and like a bride emblazoned in her jewelry.
  • But now the righteousness, which is valid before God, is revealed without the help of the law, and testified by the law and the prophets. But I am talking about righteousness before God, which comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Because there is no difference here.
  • The lips of the righteous know what is right;
    but the wicked mouth knows how to twist things.
  • You are the light of the world. The city on a hill cannot be hidden.
  • But go and learn what that means: "I want mercy and not sacrifice." I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
  • Then you will understand justice and right
    and piety and every good path.
  • Better a little with justice
    than much income with injustice.
For God is not unjust that he should forget your work and the love you showed his name by serving and still serving the saints.
