How can I add admin to Instagram
Help, I can't add my channel
Are you using Firefox with activity tracking turned off?
If you use Firefox open a new tab and enter the text "about: preferences" in the address bar. Confirm with the Enter key and enter the term "activity tracking" in the search field. If the option "Block page elements" is set to "Strict", this prevents the connection to Facebook from being established. You can now either switch to "Standard" or add an exception for the SocialHub using the "Manage exceptions" button.
Can the connection be made with a different browser?
Due to the large number of setting options and add-ons, there are countless possible sources of error that can block the connection of a channel. So please try another browser if possible. We recommend Chrome and Firefox, but Internet Explorer can also be used for this.
Don't worry: you don't have to permanently switch to another browser. Once the channel is connected, you can return to your standard browser and use the SocialHub there.
Are you the administrator of the Facebook page?
You can only add Facebook Pages on SocialHub that you are the administrator of. You can check this in the settings of the page under the heading "Roles for the page". It should look like this:
If you are not an administrator, you have to have the rights given to you. How a person can be made an administrator is explained in the Facebook help section under How to give someone a role.
Can another admin of the Facebook page add the channel?
In some cases a channel can be added when another Facebook user connects. To do this, you have to add another administrator to the Facebook page. To do this, open the "Roles for the page" area in the settings on the Facebook page. There you can add a Facebook user as administrator under "Assign new page role".
The selected person receives an invitation that they have to confirm and can then try to add the channel on SocialHub. If the person does not have access to SocialHub himself, he or she must first log into a tab on Facebook. You can then log in to another tab with your access to the SocialHub and try to add the channel.
Business integration authorizations may not have been fully released
It can happen that one or more business integration authorizations are not released. In the settings of your personal Facebook profile you can see the permissions:
By clicking on "View and edit" of the SocialHub integration, you will be shown all permissions. Make sure that really all of them are activated.
If one or more permissions are not enabled, do so at this point and try again to add the channel. If it still does not work, the authorizations may have to be completely reset. To do this, please follow the next point:
The business integration authorizations may have to be completely reset
If the authorizations get mixed up for any reason, they have to be completely revoked and set again. The catch here is that the permissions for all linked Facebook and Instagram channels are reset. So if you manage several channels in your SocialHub account, you have to add all of them again afterwards. But this usually has no negative effect on your account.
In the settings of your personal Facebook account you will find the item Business Integrations. There you remove the SocialHub integration (attention: in the confirmation query, the checkbox "Delete posts, videos or events that SocialHub has posted in your timeline."Not activated!).
It can now take a few minutes before the SocialHub notices that it lacks permissions. The best thing to do is to just wait for the channels to disappear from your account. The very impatient can remove the channels themselves, but then the addition might not work and it has to be started again.
When adding, make sure that all Facebook pages are activated and that all permissions that are queried are allowed. Proceed as we have described on this help page: Adding channels
Is an IP block active on the part of the company's IT?
In some companies, an IP block is active that prevents access to certain services, including parts of Facebook. If this is the case, you as a user cannot grant access authorization when adding a channel and the channel cannot be connected.
Please speak to your colleagues from IT to see if this could be the case. Alternatively, you can of course also try to add the channel in another network (e.g. at home). Once the channel is connected, you can work with it without any problems and use all the functions of the SocialHub. However, it is advisable to loosen any IP block in this regard. Because the access authorizations have to be renewed regularly.
Since Instagram is part of Facebook, the same conditions apply. In addition, there is one special feature that must be checked first. If the channel still cannot be added after this, please also note the Facebook section above.
Is the Instagram account correctly linked to a Facebook page?
In order for an Instagram account to be linked to SocialHub or another tool, it must be linked to a Facebook page. The link can be established either on the computer or via smartphone. Unfortunately, both variants are not 100% reliable. If the channel cannot be added to the SocialHub after it has been linked to the computer, remove the link and re-establish it using the Instagram app on the smartphone.
How do I link Instagram and Facebook on the computer?
Open the settings of the Facebook page that you want to link to the Instagram account. In the "Instagram" area you will find the button to marry the two accounts.
Clicking on "Register" opens a login form that you must use to log in to your Instagram account.
If a company profile has not yet been set up for the Instagram account, you will now be asked to enter business contact information. Attention: This step must not be skipped!

Unfortunately, the link on the computer does not work 100% reliably. If the channel cannot be added to the SocialHub after linking, unlink it a little further down on the same page and re-establish it using the Instagram app on your smartphone.
You then have to confirm that you really want to break the connection.
How do I link Instagram and Facebook via smartphone?

Has a company profile been set up for the Instagram account?
Open the settings in the Instagram app on your smartphone. The point "Company settings" must be visible there. If you find the option "Register for a business profile" instead, then no company profile has yet been set up. Do that now by tapping the option and following the instructions.
Then relink the Instagram account with the Facebook page. How to do this is described above.
Are the Facebook page and Instagram account integrated in the same Business Manager?
Open the Business Manager and switch to the company settings. Check under the item "Pages" whether the Facebook profile is integrated. If not, please add it. Then check under the point "Instagram accounts" whether the Instagram account is integrated and add this if it is missing.
Is the link between the Instagram account and the Facebook page visible in the Instagram app?
Open your profile in the Instagram app on your smartphone and tap on "Edit profile". Scroll to "Profile information" and check whether the name of your Facebook page is to the right of the "Page" option. If not, tap on "Page" and see if you can select it. Then try to add the channel again.
Does the Instagram account name contain one or more emojis?
Emojis in the name of the channel are not entirely unproblematic when using the Facebook API. So remove the emojis from the name and try again. You can change the name under "Edit profile".
A bug in the Facebook API affects your Instagram account
If you've got this far, you are unfortunately affected by a bug in the Facebook API. Based on reports from our customers, we posted a bug report on Facebook and it was confirmed to us that there is currently a bug on Facebook that will not be resolved in the short term.
Until Facebook implements a fix for this in the long term, only one workaround will help: The affected Instagram account should be converted into a personal account and then back into a business account.
Danger: When converting to a personal account, the insights within the Instagram account are irrevocably lost.
Here is an excerpt from the original message from Facebook:
"Yes, this is currently the state of things; you'll need to convert back to a personal account and then to a business account (losing insights along the way). I understand that this is painful and have shared feedback with our engineering team ."
You can check whether you are affected by this error in the Instagram app. Open your profile and tap "Edit professional". Scroll to "Profile information" and check whether the name of your Facebook page is to the right of the "Page" option.
Then open your profile again and then the menu. Now open the settings and scroll down until you see the item "Linked accounts". Tap it and then tap "Facebook" again. In this view, check whether your Facebook page is visible and selected:
Now there are two options:
- The page is not correct linked and you cannot see or select them at this point. Read on right below this list.
- The page is correct linked, but you still can't add them to SocialHub. In that case we need some data from you. We can pass this on to Facebook for further checking as to why your Instagram channel cannot be added. Read a little below about this.
The page is not properly linked and you cannot see or select it
Open your profile in the app and then the menu. Now open the settings and scroll down until you see the item "Account". Tap this and then "Switch to personal account" and confirm this again.Danger: When converting to a personal account, the insights within the Instagram account are irrevocably lost.
After a short wait, the point "Switch to professional account" appears in the same place. Tap on it and then select "Business". Next, choose a category and enter your business contact details.
You will now be asked to connect to Facebook. Do not skip this point! Otherwise your account is locked in the same status as before.
Log in to Facebook and select the page. You should now be able to easily add the Instagram channel on SocialHub. If it still doesn't work, please follow the instructions in the next section.
The page is linked correctly, but you still cannot add it to the SocialHub
Unfortunately, we cannot do anything ourselves now and have to pass the topic on to Facebook. In our experience, however, this path always means that the Instagram account has to be converted into a personal account as described in the previous section. Nevertheless, we would like to offer you this option and would be happy to submit a ticket to Facebook support for you. Please be aware that this is a laborious process that can take several weeks. In the previous cases, there was no avoiding the conversion of the account. Therefore, you have to decide whether you want to invest the time.
If you decide to do this, we need some data from you so that we can initiate a further check on Facebook as to why your Instagram channel cannot be added:
1. The ID of your Facebook page
Open the Business Manager on your Facebook page:
Now you should get an overview of your Facebook pages, where you can also find the ID of the respective page. Make a note of this and send it to us with the further data.
If the Facebook page is not displayed to you at this point, you must first add it in the company settings. To do this, click the "Company Settings" button at the top right and then switch to the Accounts> Pages area. There click Add> Add Page and type in the name of the Facebook page in the search field. You may have to confirm the process with a password. Then go back to the home page of your Business Manager. You should now be able to see the ID.
2. Your Instagram account ID
Open the company settings on the Facebook page, click the menu item "Instagram accounts" and then click on the linked Instagram account to the right of it. A little further to the right you will now find the ID of the Instagram account. Make a note of this and send it to us with the further data.

In total, Facebook needs 4 screenshots from your Instagram app.

Important: If the name of the Facebook page is not visible, ...
- ... tap on "Share to" if you are using an iPhone. Then select the Facebook page that you want to be linked.
- ... under "Share on" select the Facebook page that should be linked if you are using an Android smartphone.

4. An "Access-Token" of your user
We will find this out for you, but you have to help us. Just before you send us the data listed above, try to add the channel again to the SocialHub. The attempt will of course fail again, but we can then take the access token that Facebook needs from our logs. Please note the exact time and send it to us with the further dates. Please do not log out of Facebook afterwards, because then access via access tokens will also be blocked for us.
5. That's it
As soon as we have collected all the data, we can pass it on to Facebook for further review. As soon as we get feedback from there, we will of course let you know.
